The Flat Roofing Process

At Rooftop Systems, most of our flat roof installations follow a 4 step process. We only use Firestone products which means your new roof will have a lifespan of around 50 years.

We strip off the existing flat roof back to bare beams.

The roof is then insulated and re-boarded with 18mm OSB.

The water-based adhesive is then applied to the newly fitted 18mm OSB.

The Firestone Rubber membrane is then fitted and attractive edge trims seal the perimeter.

How long will the roof last?

The life expectancy of a Firestone rubber roof is 50 years.

Does the roof come with a guarantee?

There is a 20 year guarantee on all our flat roof installations and we also provide a separate insurance backed guarantee for total peace of mind.

Do you offer a discount for OAP’s?

Yes we offer discounts for OAP’s, NHS, health care workers and for any emergency services. Proof required.

How long will the installation take?

Typically if it is a straightforward flat roof installation service, then it would take between 1-3 days for the whole process to be completed.

Will there be much mess during construction?

Our flat roofing fitters will make the absolute minimal mess possible and then clean up after the work is completed.

What areas do you cover?

We work throughout Staffordshire, Cheshire, Shropshire and Derbyshire. We are ideally placed to effectively cover these areas for installations and repairs.

Replacement of an Existing Asbestos Flat Roof

We have removed the existing asbestos flat roof from this garage, fitted new wooden beams and boards, and laid the Firestone rubber in one piece. Fascias, soffits and guttering have been fitted to the perimeter.

Replacement of an Existing Felt and Board Dormer Flat Roof

We have removed the existing felt and boards from the dormer flat roof and replaced it with one piece of Firestone rubber laid onto new boards and insulated.

New Build Flat Orangery Rubber Roof with Roof Lantern and Decorative Fascia

We built the roof for the freestanding orangery from scratch using steel joists combined with timber to create a large opening. We then used firestone rubber for the flat sections and completed the centre with a large 4m x 2m roof lantern.
